SAS adds Bristol, Stockholm route

Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) has launched the inaugural service from Bristol International Airport to Stockholm.  The inauguration of the new service marks the further expansion of SAS’ UK network and serves to open up Scandinavia to the UK’s South West holiday market.

SAS operates a twice-weekly service from Bristol airport to the Swedish capital on Monday and Friday evenings allowing friends and families to get away for the school holidays or an easy summer short break. SAS will operate an Economy Class product on all flights, in addition to its unique premium economy service, Economy Extra. Economy Extra provides an efficient service including business class check in facilities and fully flexible fares with no restrictions. Economy Extra passengers are seated in a dedicated area between the business and economy sections, receive a complimentary meal with drinks and can earn extra frequent flyer points.

Lars-Ove Filipson, General Manager United Kingdom & Ireland, Scandinavian Airlines said: “The popularity of Scandinavia as a leisure destination has increased greatly. Stockholm is one of the world’s most beautiful capitals. Built on 14 islands around one of Europe’s largest and best-preserved mediaeval city centres, the Swedish capital is superbly positioned to welcome families wishing to explore a fascinating city on their doorstep.

“We are delighted to be offering the only direct service from Bristol to Stockholm to coincide with the summer holidays.  Our new service allows families and friends to escape for short breaks and weekends or take the time to enjoy longer stays.”
