Ritz-Carlton manages Abaco Club, Bahamas

Ritz-Carlton and Peter de Savar have partnered to manage The Abaco Club On Winding Bay, in The Bahamas. Under the terms of the agreement, RC Abaco Holding Company, Ltd. has become a 50 percent equity partner. A full management transition will be effected by 1 July 2006; de Savary will continue as Chairman of the member’s Club. The name of the Caribbean development will be The Abaco Club On Winding Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Managed Club.

“I look forward to a long term relationship with The Ritz-Carlton and believe the combination of our skills will also benefit future endeavours,” said Peter de Savary.

Located in The Bahamas, on the island of Great Abaco, The Abaco Club is an exclusive golf course and sporting retreat within a scenic 520-acre peninsula. Luxuriously appointed cottages and other real estate choices provide a setting for members to enjoy the world’s first Scottish-style links golf course in the tropics, designed by Tom McKenzie and Donald Steel. A clubhouse, spa, tennis courts, fitness and equestrian center offer a selection of recreational opportunities which compliment the Club’s magnificent two mile pristine white sand beach. The Club has its own dock and mooring facilities for member’s pleasure boats. Snorkeling, diving, deep sea fishing and exceptional bone fishing are all part of the Club’s available activities.

Access to the Club’s own private 12 passenger plane allows guests to transfer to the Club’s private terminal at Marsh Harbour Airport from cities in South Florida and Nassau.
