Cricket World Cup gets agent boost

An increasing number of travel companies are signing up to become Official Travel Agents (OTAs) for ICC Cricket World Cup 2007.There are now 42 OTAs spread across the globe from Australia to Canada, India and the Netherlands and several Caribbean countries, including Barbados, St. Kitts & Nevis, Saint Lucia and Trinidad & Tobago.

Among the five new OTAs announced, Jamaica is the lone Host Venue to have another one added to its list.

The finalisation of contractual arrangements between ICC CWC 2007 Official Tour Operator, Cricket Logistics 2007, and Total Travel Services Limited means the latter is now the third OTA in Jamaica and the eighth regional OTA overall.

The other new OTAs are: Uniglobe Plus Travel Group (Canada); Trust Travel & Tours and SOTC Sports Abroad (both in India) and Kuoni Sport Abroad (UK).

Meanwhile, Supersport Travel has been reclassified as an African OTA as it will supply Tour & Travel packages for fans from the entire continent and not just South Africa. In addition Caribbean Collection, which was previously registered as an Irish OTA, has withdrawn from the programme.
