Thomson and First Choice add Vietnam to long-haul programme

Thomson and First Choice are to introduce Vietnam to its winter 2017 programme. The Caribbean islands of St Lucia and Cayo Santa Maria in Cuba, which were new additions to its summer 2017 programme, will also be extended into the winter season. The move is part of continued interest in long haul destinations and builds on the 350 per cent increase in long haul holidays over a ten year period that the brands revealed last year.

Vietnamese tourism capital Danang is beginning the final preparations for the World Travel Awards Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony 2016. The event will take place at InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort on Saturday, October 15th. Hundreds of leaders from across the hospitality industry will attend the red carpet ceremony, with the best among them recognised with the prestigious World Travel Awards trophies.

Vietnam extends UK visitor visa waiver

The government of Vietnam has announced that it is extending its visa exemption program for UK passport holders for single-entry stays of up to 15 days, until June 30th, 2017. The policy, which was first introduced on July 1st, 2015, also applies to French, German, Spanish and Italian nationals.

Air New Zealand launches flights to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Air New Zealand has today announced it’s expanding its Pacific Rim presence introducing New Zealand’s first direct service to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. Air New Zealand will fly three times a week between Auckland and Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport on a seasonal basis, operating from June to October in 2016 with the potential to expand the season in subsequent years.
