Emirates strengthens commercial leadership team with five senior appointments
Emirates has announced new appointments to its commercial leadership team as it ramps up its network, fleet and products for its next era of growth. The newly created roles, which include Senior Vice President, Network Passenger Sales Development and Vice President for Passenger Sales – Regional Clusters will support the airline’s regional growth and market expansion ambitions, drive integrated performance across markets and segments, as well as foster key corporate relationships to drive long-term passenger growth, build market share and revenue.

Calvià, located in southwest Mallorca, has welcomed the new Illes del Ponent Marine Reserve, marking a decisive step in strengthening the protection of its coastline and its credentials as a sustainable tourism destination. The new protection scheme includes enclaves of high ecological value such as El Toro, the Islas Malgrats, and l’Ila del Sec, covering a total of 2,300 hectares of which 240 are highly protected. With this expansion, the new reserve incorporates an additional 15 hectares of highly protected area and extends the coastal strip included in the protected zone by approximately seven kilometres.
Dubai hotel occupancy climbs to more than 81% as international visitors reach almost 10 million
Hotel occupancy levels across Dubai reached more than 81% - up 4.5% year-on-year- with the number of international visitors climbing 6.1% to almost 10 million between January and June 2025, according to new research and insight from leading real estate advisory group, Cavendish Maxwell. Cavendish Maxwell’s H1 2025 Dubai hospitality sector market performance analysis also reports that the average daily rate (ADR) across Dubai’s hotels and resorts topped AED745, up 5.5% on the same period last year.
