Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Newlands opens to guests
The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has seen the opening of Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Newlands. The hotel offers 122 superior guest rooms and lies at the foot of Table Mountain – a flat-topped mountain forming a prominent landmark overlooking the city of Cape Town.
Minor Hotels expands Mozambique presence with Maputo deal
Minor Hotel Group has further expanded its presence in Mozambique through a significant hotel and mixed use investment in the capital Maputo. The move comes in addition to increasing its hotel portfolio with the rebranding of existing assets in the country to its Anantara and AVANI brands.
Wyndham brings Ramada brand to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Wyndham Hotel Group has announced the signing of a management agreement for the group’s first property in Ethiopia, the 136-room Ramada Addis. Upon opening in the first half of next year, Ramada Addis will offer 128 guest rooms and eight suites, ideally located on a major transport route linking the city centre with Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.
Minor Hotels continues Mozambique expansion
Minor Hotel Group has further expanded its presence in Mozambique through a significant hotel and mixed use investment in the capital Maputo, in addition to increasing its hotel portfolio with the rebranding of existing assets in the country to its Anantara and AVANI brands. Minor Hotel Group has invested approximately US$101 million to acquire 49 per cent of a hotel and mixed-use property project in Maputo in a joint venture with Rani Investment.
Maritim Hotels opens second property in Mauritius
Maritim Hotels is reinforcing its presence in Mauritius with the opening of a second hotel on the popular tropical island. Complementing its award winning five-star Maritim Hotel Mauritius at Turtle Bay in the north-west, the new four-star Maritim Crystals Beach Hotel will be located on the east coast of the island in the attractive setting of Belle Mare on a half mile stretch of sandy beach.

Kempinski takes over running of ‘Hotel Rwanda’
Kempinski Hotels has taken over the management of the Hôtel Des Milles Collines in Rwanda’s capital Kigali. Hôtel Des Mille Collines by Kempinski will be the European luxury hotel company’s ninth hotel operating on the continent, with three more hotels in Africa scheduled to open in the next six months.

Hilton Worldwide and DoubleTree by Hilton have announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Zanzibar - Stone Town, located 64 kilometers (40 miles) off the coast of mainland Tanzania. Nestled in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stone Town, the 58-room DoubleTree by Hilton Zanzibar - Stone Town offers a perfect base from which to experience the enchanting island of Zanzibar. The hotel marks the brand’s third hotel to open in the country.

Ramada Nairobi takes Wyndham Hotel Group into Kenya
Wyndham Hotel Group has announced plans to expand into Kenya after signing a franchise agreement for Ramada Nairobi, the first Wyndham Hotel Group property in the country. Ramada Nairobi will be owned and managed by Global Hotels Management Africa, an affiliate of Global Hotels Management, which already operates the Ramada Hotel & Suites Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates.
