Nicola Sturgeon announced on Tuesday that the Scottish Government will introduce a Bill that would give councils the power to enact tourist tax schemes. According to the City of Edinburgh Council, it could generate £15 million each year.

This December, Wizz Air connects Edinburgh Airport with Warsaw and Gdańsk in Poland, Budapest in Hungary and Bucharest in Romania. These new services will see an increase in capacity of almost 250,000 seats on Wizz Air’s Scottish routes in 2020.

easyJet has announced a new route between Birmingham and Edinburgh. The new domestic city connection will operate 13 times a week throughout the year, with flights launching on March 29th.

The flight, which will operate daily during the summer, complements Delta’s existing Edinburgh-New York-JFK service which will become year-round in 2019, and means the airline offers two nonstop connections between the capital and United States every day this summer.

The stylish new space will boast high ceilings with full-height, dual-aspect windows, making it the only lounge in the airport to offer guest views of the runways, the surrounding countryside and the Forth Bridges.
