As part of the UAE’s ongoing campaign to generate support for the country’s bid to host the 2020 World Expo in Dubai, staff from the Dubai Events & Promotions Establishment (DEPE) this week participated in an interactive workshop facilitated by the Expo 2020 bid team.

Bin Fahed showcased the various activities and programmes that Al Wasl will launch as part of its initiative to support the bid, which comes under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Al Wasl Sport & Cultural Club, and His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to use all potential to activate the role of the club to be one of the main players in supporting Dubai’s bid to host this global event.

As part of the programme, the Expo team shared insights into why the UAE is ideally placed to welcome the world in 2020, and how the event will provide a platform for young people across the region and around the globe to connect, share and help create solutions to key challenges facing the world today.

Over 180 firms from the UAE and around the world have pledged to help raise awareness of the country’s bid to host the 2020 World Expo in Dubai, following the recent launch of an online initiative for corporate bid supporters.

Dubai Government entities, which have been named “Official Partners” of the UAE’s bid to host the 2020 World Expo, collectively highlighted today the strength of their shared commitment to supporting this national campaign to welcome the world on the eve of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the country.

With only one week to go before the Expo 2020 “Be part of it” competition closes, people across the country are encouraged to seize the opportunity to enter their submissions for a chance to represent the UAE at a special reception in Paris, France, this November.
