Thai-me to Fly: Finnair to offer a record number of flights to Thailand
Finnair, Finland’s flag carrier, will offer customers a record number of 25 weekly flights next winter between its home hub, Helsinki, and Thailand. The Nordic airline will resume direct flights to Krabi in southern Thailand and increase frequencies to Bangkok. The flag carrier will also continue to operate its ever popular route to Phuket, showing its commitment to the Asian market.

The leisure airline Corendon Airlines has set the course for further growth in its twentieth year of operation. Passengers, and travel agency and tour operator partners, can therefore look forward to larger capacities in 2026. This will be particularly evident in the summer season April to October 2026, when capacity from UK will increase by 9% compared to 2025, with more balanced timetables and higher weekly frequencies on core leisure routes providing travellers and trade partners with greater choice and schedule reliability.

Turkish Airlines is Relaunching its Sulaymaniyah Flights
Turkish Airlines, the airline that flies to more countries than any other in the world relaunched its flights between Istanbul and Sulaymaniyah which were stopped on April 2023. Already possessing a strong network in the country with flights to Baghdad, Basra, Erbil, Kirkuk, and Najaf, flag carrier once again connects Iraq to the world with a total of six gateways. Starting on 2 November 2025, flights between İstanbul Airport and Sulaymaniyah International Airport are going to be operated with four weekly frequencies reciprocally on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. On 2026 Summer Schedule, flights are set to be increased to daily as of 27 March 2026.
Virgin Atlantic launches non-stop flights from London Heathrow to Phuket
Virgin Atlantic is delighted to be launching new services between London Heathrow and Phuket for Winter 2026, connecting sunshine seekers with Thailand’s breathtaking beaches and vibrant nightlife. The three times a week service will operate seasonally from 18th October 2026, capturing the growing demand for luxury winter escapes. As the only direct route from London Heathrow to Phuket, Brits will now be able to enjoy a seamless journey to one of Thailand’s most popular holiday destinations. Customers will be able to book package holidays with Virgin Atlantic Holidays from 30th October 2025, with prices starting from £999 per person. 3.6% Air Passenger Growth in September
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for September 2025 global passenger demand with the following highlights: Total demand, measured in revenue passenger kilometers (RPK), was up 3.6% compared to September 2024. Total capacity, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK), was up 3.7% year-on-year. The September load factor was 83.4% (-0.1 ppt compared to September 2024).

Turkish Airlines Secures Landmark Financing from Bank of China
Turkish Airlines, the airline flying to more countries than any other, has successfully completed a landmark financing transaction with Bank of China, arranged by Bank of China Turkey A.ª. The five-year facility, amounting to 2.9 billion Chinese Yuan (equivalent to USD 412 million), will support the airline’s core development initiatives, including fleet expansion, business growth, the construction of new facilities and infrastructure projects at Istanbul Airport.
