Renewable fuels company Aemetis, Inc. has announced a multi-year agreement with International Airlines Group (IAG) to supply sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to help power both British Airways and Irish flag carrier Aer Lingus’ flights from San Francisco Airport from 2025.

IAG, parent company of Aer Lingus, British Airways and Iberia, reports that the easing of Covid controls has improved demand in the first quarter, especially from premium travel. Strong customer demand is expected to drive profitability from the second quarter onwards.

The removal of testing requirements for fully vaccinated arrivals into the UK is welcome news for customers and will help rebuild consumer confidence in travel in 2022.
