Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, used a transit stop in Mauritius to hold a press conference with the island’s television, radio, and written press to update Mauritius on the upcoming Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands Carnival which is set to be staged in Seychelles from March 2-4.
During a press conference at the Mauritius Ramgoolam International Airport at Plaisance in Mauritius, the Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board has briefed Mauritius’ popular press media houses MBC TV, Radio 1 FM, L’Express and Le Mauricien newspapers, GrandBaie.Mu, and other freelance journalists on the “Carnival of Carnivals” staged on the Indian Ocean Vanilla Islands of the Seychelles.
He also noted that to date Mauritius has not yet confirmed their participation in the “Carnaval International de Victoria.”
Mr. St.Ange also took time to explain the fact that La Reunion island, through their tourism body, the IRT, had accepted to be co-organizer of the carnival alongside the Seychelles and that this offer had also gone to the Tourism Authority of Mauritius.
“We are all part of the Vanilla Islands Grouping and what a better way to showcase our region and our islands to the world,” Alain St.Ange told the press gathered. “The Indian Ocean islands all want to continue to develop their tourism industry and all want to ensure that the visibility of their islands is increased,” said Alain St.Ange.
The Mauritian press had many questions for the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board on the island’s tourism industry and on the development of tourism using culture and the diversity of the people of the Seychelles as unique assets.
Alain St.Ange explained that the “Seychelles Brand” of tourism launched by President Michel of the Seychelles stated that there could be no tourism without culture.
The press from Mauritius will be traveling to Seychelles to cover the 2012 Carnival in Seychelles.
