Movenpick plans India expansion
International upscale hotel group Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, have opened their first property in India – marking the beginning of the group’s expansion into the country.
The five-star Mövenpick Hotel & Spa Bangalore, located close to the main business districts of Bangalore, targets both business and leisure travellers.

The Mövenpick Hotel Bangalore offers a range of services including complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi in all rooms and public areas, a first in the city. All 182 rooms contain flat screen LCD TV with integrated media systems.
Guests staying in executive club rooms or suites enjoy benefits including a 24-hour rate starting from the moment they arrive, which will help the majority of international travellers taking early morning or late evening flights.

The opening further augments the close ties between India and Switzerland, which covers everything from trade to movies, with the European country’s scenery providing the backdrop to many Bollywood films.

Guests can enjoy a selection of four dining and entertainment options including the 24-hour My Place restaurant, the Obsidian bar, featuring a striking 1920s art deco interior design, the Italian restaurant Mezzaluna and the soon-to-open Perfect Sky, the hotel’s rooftop restaurant and lounge.
A dedicated floor for banqueting facilities includes a grand ballroom with separate entrance, whilst seven meeting venues offer an ideal setting for exclusive board meetings, corporate celebrations and stylish social functions.
Leisure facilities include a swimming pool with infinity edge located on the second floor, and the state of the art spa and fitness centre.
The Sohum Spa is set to become a top-class wellness facility and features eight treatment rooms and an extensive selection of therapies, inspired by Ayurveda, the ancient Indian philosophy of health and wellbeing, in addition to Oriental and European healing techniques. The Spa captures in its design and décor the Hindu temple architecture of South India, creating a soothing retreat for equilibrium and harmony.
Situated on the 12th floor the fitness centre features modern equipment and dedicated rooms for Yoga and meditation.
