Le Méridien Piccadilly announces new gin & tonic afternoon tea

Combining two great British institutions – Gin and Afternoon Tea - the newly launched terrace grill & bar at Le Méridien Piccadilly has unveiled its bespoke gin & tonic afternoon tea, providing guests with a new perspective on these quintessential British classics.

Guests can choose from a selection of six fruit or herb-infused gins which are then combined with a home-made tonic syrup.  Each of the gins has been carefully paired with fruits or herbs that complement its flavours by the hotel’s head mixologist Boris Ivan.  MONKEY 47 gin is paired with lavender, Bulldog gin with lychee, Hendrick’s with cucumber, Sloane’s gin with vanilla and chilli, Gin Mare with sweet basil stirred with rosemary and finally, Beefeater 24 is infused with Japanese green tea.  Each gin and tonic is served in its own glass teapot.

To accompany their chosen G&T, guests can enjoy a variety of classic British finger sandwiches, including cucumber and cream cheese, honey roast ham and mustard, Scottish smoked salmon and egg and cress.  These are followed by warm homemade scones with strawberry jam and Cornish clotted cream and a selection of fresh pastries.

Overlooking the world-famous thoroughfare of Piccadilly, guests can experience the Terrace Grill & Bar’s new Gin & Tonic Afternoon Tea.
