Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts has marked its debut in Qatar with the launch of Le Royal Méridien Doha. Located in the heart of the future city Lusail, the 377-room hotel enables guests to savour the brand’s distinctive take on fine European hospitality.

Secluded in a south-eastern pocket of Lhaviyani Atoll, the property is located on a natural island defined as “island surrounded by vast lagoon” in Dhivehi, the local parlance of the Maldives.

Kanit Sangmookda will be responsible for all areas in the hotel including product development, financial performance, brand compliance and guest satisfaction.

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is opening Le Méridien Shanghai, Minhang in the Hongqiao Hub of Shanghai. The hotel marks the third Le Méridien and the 34th property in the Marriott International’s fast growing portfolio in the city of Shanghai.

Le Méridien Versailles in Montréal has completed a comprehensive renovation of the intimate 108-guestroom hotel, including two penthouse suites; the debut of the signature Le Méridien Hub™, an innovative reinterpretation of the traditional hotel lobby into a social gathering place; and the unveiling of all new meeting and public spaces within the hotel.

Starwood’s Le Méridien brand will open in Batumi, the brand’s first location in the Republic of Georgia. Scheduled to open in 2018, the 110-room newly constructed hotel will showcase modern architecture and design within the iconic Batumi Tower, a mixed-use development project that also includes a casino and unbranded residences.
