Jumby Bay joins Oetker Collection

The Oetker Collection is to add a new masterpiece hotel to its collection – Jumby Bay, the private island resort in the Caribbean.

Located right in front of the main island of Antigua, Jumby Bay Island combines a very well-established luxury resort with 40 rooms and suites, three restaurants, excellent spa and fitness facilities, water sports, five tennis courts and 50 individually designed and fully staffed villas and estate homes for
holiday rental.

The hotel will be the tenth property of the Oetker Collection which comprises Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa, Le Bristol Paris, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, Château Saint-Martin & Spa, Fregate Island Private, The Lanesborough, L’Apogée Courchevel, Eden Rock-St Barths and most recently Palácio Tangará, which opened in June 2017 in São Paulo.

It will be a perfect double island combination with Eden Rock-St Barths located just a 40 minute flight from Antigua.

“Since the foundation of Oetker Collection, we have grown our hotel portfolio with carefully chosen resorts and city hotels that deserve the attribute ‘Masterpiece’.

“Today, I am delighted to announce our expansion with a second Masterpiece in the Caribbean: Jumby Bay Island,” said Frank Marrenbach, chief executive, Oetker Collection.

“This private island paradise is a truly special and precious place, with 120 hectares of manicured landscape surrounded by white sandy beaches and turquoise waters.

“As of October, guests will experience Oetker Collection’s highest standards of quality service to which they are accustomed, and can rest assured that our team of hoteliers will offer them quite a unique sense of place.”

As the new operator of Jumby Bay Island, Oetker Collection will be responsible for the management of the resort and for the rental of the villas and estate homes, some of which offer up to nine bedrooms and most of them with direct access to a private beach.

The group is working on a thorough plan to update, enhance, and where relevant, re-configure the island’s guestrooms and suites.

Dennis McNeill, chairman of the board, Jumby Bay Island Company declared: “It is with great pleasure that the board of directors and homeowners of Jumby Bay Island welcome the Oetker Collection as the manager of our resort.

“We look forward to a long and productive relationship.”
