Hawaiian Airlines Selects Sabre Solution

Sabre
announced that Hawaiian Airlines
has selected Sabre Airline Solutions fares management and flight scheduling systems to help better manage its fares distribution and flight planning and scheduling operations. Hawaiian is adding the new offerings to the Sabre AirMax revenue management system already in use at the airline.

Specifically, the airline is implementing Sabre AirPrice fares management system and Sabre PC AirFlight flight scheduling system, core products in the company`s award-winning integrated suite of revenue planning software products. Sabre Airline Solutions will deliver the AirPrice system to Hawaiian through the company`s eMergo Web-enabled and dedicated network solutions offering.

“We decided to implement AirPrice and AirFlite because we wanted an integrated solution with robust functionality and decision support that enables us to proactively make rapid, effective and profitable decisions in an ever-changing and competitive environment,” said Glenn Taniguchi, vice president, Schedule Planning for Hawaiian Airlines. “Together, this industry leading suite of products will enable us to build on the strong foundation of AirMax by managing our schedules, pricing and revenue management tightly and effectively from a network perspective.”

Hawaiian Airlines first licensed the AirMax system from Sabre in September 1997 and upgraded the system in 2002. The system serves as the airline`s central revenue management data repository and provides decision support to set optimal inventory controls for allocating seat inventory. According to Taniguchi, the airline has realized benefits in terms of revenue maximization, enhanced decision support, improved productivity, forecasting accuracy and responsiveness, and reduced spoilage and oversell costs.

Steve Clampett, president of the Sabre Airline Products and Services unit of Sabre Airline Solutions, said, “An increasing number of our clients worldwide have expressed strong interest in integrated solutions as opposed to point products. Out-of-box integration capabilities that reduce time to market are among the major benefits Sabre Airline Solutions offers its clients. With an integrated suite of over 70 industry leading products that address all aspects of an airline`s operations, we are increasingly becoming the software solutions provider of choice.”

The eMergo delivery mode is another area where Sabre has differentiated itself by providing a secure and safe environment with superior reliability and data access over an Internet or direct connection. Delivery by the eMergo method eliminates the need for complicated in-house data center infrastructure and support. Several major carriers across the globe have chosen the eMergo solution, seeking to improve revenues, lower costs and quicken time to market, affordably and without large capital outlay.

“Accessing the AirPrice system via Sabre`s eMergo web-enabled solution allowed us to minimize our upfront investment,” continued Taniguchi. “We also achieve a quicker ROI with all the benefits of sophisticated functionality and quicker time to market.”

The Revenue Planning suite from Sabre consists of three core products—/PCAirFlite, AirMax, and AirPrice—as well as a number of complementary products that address various aspects of revenue management, pricing and planning and scheduling. All of the products can be installed in-house, and most are also available via the eMergo ASP delivery platform.
