Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, UAE, Oman and Qatar, has announced the appointment of Captain Richard Hill as General Manager, Flight Operations (Technical). 

“This strategic and senior appointment has been made at a defining time in the transition of Gulf Air,” said James Hogan, President & Chief Executive, Gulf Air.  “Captain Hill will report directly to the Vice President of Operations and will be responsible for creating new operational objectives and for addressing organisational and regulatory requirements as they relate to the restructuring efforts underway.”

“Captain Hill previously held the Airline Operating Certificate for bmi with the UK Civil Aviation Authority and his appointment is a reflection of our commitment to strengthening our operational team to a world class standard,” added Mr Hogan.

Captain Hill has more than 20-years experience in the aviation industry.  He began his career as a pilot with bmi, where he rose from co-pilot to training manager.  Moving into airline management, Captain Hill was most recently Director of Operations, where he orchestrated an operational restructuring and fleet realignment programme for bmi.
