LOT Polish Airlines Enters Co-Branding Agreements With Three Internet Travel Partners

Looking to offer excellent service not only on land and in the air, LOT Polish Airlines is adding more value and a wider range of services for customers in space—cyberspace, that is.

By signing agreements with Microsoft Expedia?.com, Leisure Planet and Internet Polska, all of which are Internet travel services, LOT is committing itself to offering passengers full-service travel features.

The co-branding efforts will allow passengers logging on to LOT`s web site to access Expedia for car and hotel reservations; Leisure Planet for information on events and happenings in all 60+ destinations served by LOT; and Internet Polska to get the most comprehensive look at Poland.

“These moves will greatly benefit our customers as they will now have access to a one-stop shopping and information center,” said Pawel Mastalerz, LOT`s Internet Marketing Manager.

These advanced travel booking engines and information sources put all the information right at the fingertips of travelers, without having to go elsewhere on the web.

“We saw a need to offer more than just flights on our web site,” Mastalerz continued. “We wanted to give our passengers the full spectrum of travel planning from their personal computer.”

In October 1997, LOT introduced LOT TicketsOnLine?, an on-line service that allows passengers to plan their own itinerary, choose their seat assignment and pay for the tickets, all within a few minutes from their PC. By adding these co-branding agreements, the carrier will create the total travel package for passengers who like to work on-line.

By logging on to LOT`s web site (www.lot.com), passengers can not only book their own flights via LOT TicketsOnLine?, but they can also find the latest LOT schedules around the world, keep up to date on current flight information and read up on the history of the airline.

With these three new services, coupled with LOT TicketsOnLine?, passengers will be able to book their own flight, reserve their rental cars and hotel rooms, investigate any travel specials and find out what`s being featured at a specific cultural centers in their city of choice.

“We`ve always felt that LOT passengers are the most independent and most informed people in the world, and these new services can only add to their reputations,” joked Mastalerz.

LOT plans to add these new features to it`s web site in mid-June.
