SAA Has Not Reached Any Agreement With Pilots & Engineers

06 August, 2002, JOHANNESBURG: South African Airways (SAA) has not reached any agreement with the South African Airways Pilots Association (SAAPA) and the South African Airways Flight Engineers Association (SAAFEA).
During wage talks, SAA had offered a 15% increase in 2002 and a 12% increase in 2003 subject to an increase in productivity by the pilots and engineers. The offer was also linked to a reduction of the overseas meal allowance from $90 to $70.
SAAPA and SAAFEA issued a statement saying they accept the SAA offer. However their conditional acceptance deviated on certain aspects from the original offer, particularly on some aspects of productivity.

SAA is considering these differences and discussions will continue.
