After five years of operation in the heart of Bangkok, Chiva-Som’s Academy unveiled its new, expanded, world class facilities in April 2009.

The 1,455 square meter “Centre of Excellence” caters for up to 1,000 students per year via an impressive suite of contemporary classrooms, practical training rooms, consulting rooms, a spa cuisine cooking school with extensive demonstration kitchens, fully equipped training gym and yoga studio. With 24 lecturers, practitioners and support staff, the Academy will hold 66 courses throughout its first year in the new location. The Health and Wellness courses will include Spa Management, Holistic Therapies, Spa Therapy, Hydrotherapy, Movement Therapy, Post Graduate courses for physiotherapists and fitness professionals as well as cooking classes for trainee chefs. All courses are designed to deliver practitioners with exceptional skills to meet the needs of the growing spa industry. 
This investment in developing talent for the spa industry is part of Chiva-Som’s ongoing pledge to provide the world’s best health and wellbeing practitioners. Approximately 75% of students return or start to work in spas and resorts around the world.
