Press: Brussels Airlines faces pilot shortage

SN Brussels Airlines is facing a shortage of more than 50 pilots and copilots, according to Belgian daily Le Soir. Many of them leave to work for competitors who are offering higher wages or better opportunities, the paper says. Many Belgian are being hired by Air France-KLM (AKH), the paper says.

Brussels Airlines has already had to cancel four flights due to lack of pilots. To avoid further cancellations in the fall, it will temporarily call back about ten former pilots from Sabena, the defunct Belgian national airline, to fly long haul flights.
