Green Bio Hotel opens in Spain

Environment conscious travellers can now stay at the first Bio Hotel in Spain, the Aparthotel Venus Albir (www.venusalbir.com) on the Costa Blanca resort of Alfas del Pi, recent winner of an award by the Spanish Biodiversity Foundation for its ecological food and sustainable facilities.Every aspect of the Aparthotel Venus Albir, from the buildings to the restaurant menu, is designed to minimise its impact on the environment:

The complex has 24 fully-equipped apartments, all fitted with solar panels to provide hot water.  There is also a deposit to collect rain water which can then be used for the garden irrigation.

The buildings and furniture are as eco-friendly as possible, using local natural materials such as cork for insulation, marble floors,  noble wood furniture and cotton bed linen.

The restaurant offers an innovative menu using local organic produce and there is also a shop where residents can buy the best ingredients to cook at their apartment.

Other services available at the Aparthotel Venus Albir complex include a swimming pool and a spa offering a range of aromatherapy massages and other health and beauty treatments.
