Worldspan, ExpressJet ink deal

Worldspan and ExpressJet Airlines have entered into a multi-year participating carrier agreement. The agreement, which represents the fast-growing carrier’s first GDS partnership, supports global distribution of ExpressJet Airlines’ flights, availability and fares, including Web fares, and advanced electronic ticketing services through Worldspan.

ExpressJet Airlines’ offerings and e-ticketing capabilities are available to Worldspan customers worldwide, including traditional and online travel agencies, and business travellers who book trips online using Worldspan Trip Manager® XE. Travel buyers have access to all of the carrier’s published fares and related inventory. ExpressJet Airlines joined the system as a Worldspan Airline Source® participant to take full advantage of Worldspan’s advanced distribution solutions.

“Global electronic distribution is key to marketing our growing brand, and Worldspan offers the reach we need in the traditional and online channels,” said Jim Ream, president and chief executive officer, ExpressJet Airlines. “This is a major step forward for ExpressJet Airlines, presenting opportunities for growth through Worldspan’s industry-leading solutions.”

“Our agreement with ExpressJet Airlines introduces valuable additional content into the Worldspan GDS, and we are pleased to be the first GDS to market their offerings to retailers and corporations worldwide,” said Kevin Ficco, Worldspan vice president -Airline Distribution and Business Development.
