Corinthia in GDS code switch

The global distribution systems code for all Corinthia hotels has been changed to WY for the Wyndham hotel brand.

The code change follows announcement of a recent joint venture between Corinthia Hotels and Wyndham Hotel Group International for management and development efforts.  Under the joint venture, Wyndham Hotel Group International will represent all Corinthia hotels for distribution via GDS, the Internet and third-party vendors.

Under the joint venture, some Corinthia Hotels will be branded as Ramada Plaza or Wyndham hotels. The seven luxury hotels in the portfolio - the Corinthia Lisboa Hotel in Lisbon; Corinthia Nevskij Palace Hotel in St. Petersburg; Corinthia Towers Hotel in Prague; Corinthia Grand Hotel Royal in Budapest; Corinthia San Gorg Hotel and Corinthia Palace Hotel, both in Malta; and the Corinthia Bab Africa Hotel in Tripoli - will retain the Corinthia name and be associated with the Wyndham Grand Collection.

“This new alliance with the Wyndham Hotel Group International means our travel agent partners in Europe can continue to book Corinthia’s excellent hotels and destinations with the assurance that we are now affiliated with one of the world’s largest hotel groups,” said Geoff Andrew, Corinthia Hotels International group director, sales & marketing.

Mark Stanley, Wyndham Hotel Group International vice president, global sales - international markets, said the joint venture will “further expand our reach into the European and Mediterranean markets and it sets the stage for further international expansion for the Wyndham brand.  In addition, travel agents will benefit from Wyndham’s prompt commission payments and commitment to the travel agency community”.
