Hilton Glendale gets green award

Hilton Hotels recognised its hotel in Los Angeles North, the “Hilton Glendale”, as one of 32 properties to have earned a share in the company’s 2005 “Go for the Green” Award. Each year all owned and managed hotels in the Hilton Family of Brands set their annual goals based on their prior year’s actual results and projected performance.

At the end of the calendar year a hotel must have achieved their goals in each of the Key Performance Indicators in their Balanced Scorecard, the Hilton award winning performance measurement system.

All team members at hotels achieving their goals share equally in the multi-million dollar award, each receiving a check for up to $500.

A winning hotel also receives a custom designed plaque to display as a visible reminder of their outstanding achievement.

“I am very proud of our team member,” said Linda Norman, general manager of the Hilton Glendale. “2005 was a very exciting year for us.

Our Team Member Loyalty score of 92% was the highest it’s been in years. The team is also very committed to providing a 4-Diamond experience to our guests while being their home away from home. We have worked very hard to achieve our goals. Sharing in the 2005 Multi-Million dollar `Go for the Green’ Award is a wonderful reward for our efforts, and truly an honor.”

“This is the Hilton Glendale’s second win of the `Go for the Green’ award; they last received this recognition in 2000, and I know with Linda Norman’s leadership and her strong team, we can expect another outstanding performance year in 2006,” said Ernest Wooden, Jr., senior vice president - operations, Western Region.
