KLM Announce Surge in Online Activity

KLM has reported a huge growth in the usage of its website by UK
passengers in the past 12 months. With a yearly growth of 45%, KLM.com now receives on average 105,000 UK visitors per week. In addition, nearly 85% of UK flyers now travel on an e-ticket, the highest penetration of usage
in the carrier’s network. Top destinations booked are Amsterdam, Rotterdam,
Hong Kong and Singapore.

The growth in usage of KLM.com is attributed to developments on the website
which now offers flyers the options of e-ticketing, Internet check-in, home
printed boarding passes* and self-service check-in, which have all proved
highly popular with corporate travellers in particular.

Vincent Knoops, KLM’s General Manager for the UK, said:  “All airlines have
had to refocus their attention on this area of their business in order to
compete effectively. Frequent flyers, particularly business flyers, are
sophisticated customers who are looking for value-for-money coupled with
service and that is what klm.com offers - highly competitive pricing
together with a range of benefits which ultimately enhance and streamline
the travel process.’
