The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) officially launched its new Quebec chapter on September 18, 2003 at H™tel Nelligan in Old Montreal, Canada, under the direction of Marie - Claude Bellance (Martinique Tourism Board).
The chapter’s mission will be to provide various Quebec tourism partners with current information about the Caribbean, to provide educational programs geared to specific markets, and to organize fundraising campaigns for Caribbean charities. Various activities are
already planned for 2004.
The day was marked by a number of activities. A media event was held in the morning, travel agents were then invited to attend the four-hour training seminar in the afternoon presented by John Lupien, Partner, Tourism Marketing International followed by a Mini Caribbean Travel Mart in the afternoon showcasing some of the Caribbean tourism offices, hoteliers and CTO partners. The day’s festivities concluded with a Caribbean-style Cocktail reception.
