Consumer, the premier online booking engine for consumers, to power one of the
world`s first multi-ferry enquiry and booking systems.
Datalex, a leading developer of business
solutions for the global travel industry, delivered in early February the
first ferry services-configured application of BookIt! Consumer to Irish
Continental Group for its wannabeinireland.com travel Web portal.
The successful implementation brings leading-edge travel-booking technology to
business and leisure travellers who browse multiple ferry services for fares and availability.

At the heart of the new BookIt! Consumer ferry application is Datalex`s
Host Access Server, a sophisticated enterprise middleware platform that
supports connectivity to a wide range of e-Business applications and other
travel services, including Global Distribution Systems (GDS) for airline, car
hire and hotels. The highly extensible and scaleable Host Access Server is utilized in Irish Continental Group`s solution to check availability across
multiple ferry services and confirm passage. The application transparently
deciphers the sailing schedules for all ferry operators that meet the
traveller`s search criteria and returns the sailing options in an intuitive,
user-friendly, custom-designed interface. Specific ferry operators also can
be requested.
