Rob Bishton has quit his position as chief pilot with easyJet to take up the position with a new Fastjet budget carrier being launched by Stelios Haji-Ioannou.

Stelios founded easyJet in 1995 and remains the largest shareholder of the UK-based carrier, but has more recently been involved in a number of disputes with the airline.

Bishton has been with easyJet for two years.

He was formerly flight operators director of Astraeus Airlines.
