Renaissance Hotels continue Asia Pacific expansion
Marriott International is further expanding its business in China with the opening of the Renaissance Suzhou Wujiang Hotel in Shengze, an ancient city with a modern and thriving economy. The new hotel is the first international hospitality brand in the area and the 19th Renaissance branded property to open in China.

Marriott expands South Africa property portfolio
Marriott International has continued to expand its footprint across the African continent by announcing the signing of two new properties in South Africa, in partnership with The Amdec Group. Expected to open by February 2018, the 150-room Johannesburg Marriott Hotel Melrose Arch and 200-unit Marriott Executive Apartments Johannesburg Melrose Arch will be located in the Melrose Arch precinct in Johannesburg.

Marriott International has opened its first hotel under the flagship Marriott brand in Chongqing. JW Marriott Marquis Dubai goes from strength to strength
JW Marriott Marquis Dubai released its 2015 half year sales results which reveal it has continued to go from strength to strength throughout 2015 despite challenging global conditions. The UAE’s largest five-star hotel experienced an inventory increase of 51 per cent during this period and occupancies across its 1,608 rooms remained in excess of 80 per cent leading into Ramadan.
New appointment for Marriott International
Tricia Primrose has been appointed Global Chief Communications & Public Affairs Officer of Marriott International. Primrose joins Marriott from Rational 360, a strategic public relations and communications firm where she has been a Partner since 2013 providing counsel and communications support for C-suite executives at large multinational companies.
