Marriott International Signs Agreement With Knowledge Economic City to Open Three Hotels in Madinah
Marriott International, Inc. announced it has signed an agreement with Knowledge Economic City (KEC) to open three hotels within the Holy City of Madinah in Saudi Arabia. The anticipated openings will be part of the KEC master-development and feature over 1,200 rooms across three of the company’s brands – Courtyard by Marriott, Four Points by Sheraton and Residence Inn by Marriott.
Marriott International Expands Branded Residences Portfolio in Europe, Middle East & Africa Region
Yesterday at the Resort and Residential Forum, Marriott International announced its accelerated growth in its branded residential portfolio in the Europe, Middle East & Africa (“EMEA”) region, with 70 projects in the portfolio, including 43 projects in its signed pipeline and 27 open properties. In the past two years, the global hospitality leader has signed 26 agreements to bring branded residences to iconic destinations in the region, more than double the amount from the preceding two years. With locations ranging from luxurious resort addresses, such as The St. Regis Residences, Casares – Costa del Sol, a highly anticipated project announced last month, to premier urban destinations like the W Residences at Dubai Harbour, there is something for every type of home buyer in the company’s pipeline.

Marriott International Announces Long-Term Licensing Agreement with Sonder
Marriott International, Inc. has announced a long-term licensing agreement with Sonder Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: SOND, “Sonder”), which is expected to add over 9,000 rooms to Marriott’s portfolio by year-end and approximately 1,500 rooms to its pipeline. Under this agreement, Sonder’s open and pipeline portfolio, which primarily consists of apartment-style accommodations in urban markets, is expected to be added to the Marriott system under a new collection called “Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy.”
Marriott International Launches HotelHelp Pilot to Provide Short-Term Emergency Stays
At the AHLA Foundation’s third annual No Room for Trafficking (NRFT) Summit in connection with World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Marriott International, Inc. announced the pilot launch of HotelHelp, a rooms donation program for survivors of human trafficking. HotelHelp currently works with Marriott’s portfolio of hotels that are willing to donate short-term emergency stays and established care providers who book these rooms for the survivors they support.
