Emirates is planning to launch a non-stop, daily service to Phuket from December 10th. The new Dubai - Phuket service, which will mark Emirates’ second destination in Thailand and 15th new route this year, will be operated by a three-class Airbus aircraft.

Qantas confirmed it is in discussions with other airlines including Emirates about “potential alliances”.

Emirates Team New Zealand’s latest America’s Cup yachting challenger is ready to fly after a ceremony at Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour. The huge, high-speed catamaran known as an AC 72 craft features a 40-metre high wing-sail featuring similar materials to those used in today’s most modern aircraft. 

Emirates has brought an Airbus A380 to Gatwick - the first ever scheduled A380 flight to the airport - to mark its 25th UK anniversary. The 517-seater aircraft, which is the world’s largest commercial airliner, was operating a special service on the airline’s lunchtime flights to and from Dubai, giving passengers travelling from Gatwick a one-off opportunity to experience its luxurious onboard amenities.

Emirates is embarking on a major expansion of its route network with three additional destinations to be launched in the next six months, on top of the 12 new routes already being rolled out in 2012. Services to Australia, Poland and France will be added in coming months.
