Emirates A380 touches down in Barcelona for the first time
Emirates, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, was welcomed by Barcelona – El Prat Airport today as the airline brought its popular A380 aircraft for a one-off service. This is the first ever scheduled service of an Emirates A380 to Spain. The A380 service will also operate on 1 March 2013.
Emirates unveils new campaign to connect travellers
Emirates has unveiled a new campaign showcasing the lighter side of language. Named “Share a Smile” the airline has created 29 videos in 14 languages featuring members of its cabin crew expressing quirky and unusual expressions and greetings from around the world.
Emirates announces second destination in the Philippines
Emirates announced that from 1st October 2013 it will begin daily, non-stop flights to Clark International Airport, the airline’s second destination in the Philippines. The new service will be operated by a two-class Boeing 777-300ER.
Emirates gears up for Algiers route launch
Emirates is preparing for the launch of its new route to Algiers from 1st March by offering fares from AED 2,180. Algiers will become the airline’s 22nd destination in Africa after the launch of Lusaka and Harare last year.
Emirates adds daily service to South Australia
Emirates has further bolstered its commitment to South Australia with the introduction of three extra flights a week, ensuring a non-stop, daily service between Dubai and Adelaide. The new service will see an additional 1,062 seats operate in and out of the state per week, carrying an expected 200,000 passengers on the route each year.

Emirates has launched ‘ice TV Live’ as part of its on-going efforts to provide the latest in on-board entertainment. ice TV Live currently offers passengers four TV channels to select from: BBC World News in English, BBC Arabic, Euronews and, for sports fans, Sport24 - a channel dedicated to major sports events around the world.

Emirates signs partnership deal with Formula 1
Emirates and the Formula One group have announced a five year agreement appointing Emirates as a global partner of Formula 1 starting with the imminent 2013 season. The announcement was made by HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, chairman and chief executive, Emirates Airline & Group and Bernie Ecclestone, chief executive of the Formula One group.

Emirates launches new departures to Tokyo
Emirates has confirmed it will increase its commitment to Japan, with the launch of daily, non-stop flights between Dubai and Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport). The first flights will take off on June 3rd 2013.
Qantas wins interim approval for Emirates deal
Qantas has welcomed a decision by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission grant interim authorisation for the proposed Qantas and Emirates partnership. The partnership still remains subject to final authorisation from the ACCC, a decision which is expected in March.
Emirates to operate special A380 flight to Mauritius
Emirates, one of the world’s fastest growing airlines, will showcase one of its fleet of 31 Airbus A380s during celebrations which will be held to mark the 45th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Mauritius in March. This is the first commercial A380 flight that will have landed on the island.
