Aeromexico welcomes first Boeing 787-9 to fleet

Aeromexico has unveiled its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner - called Quetzalcoatl - at the carrier’s hangar in the Mexico City International Airport. This airplane is the first of ten of these models the airline ordered in a package it announced in July 2012, representing the largest investment in the history of Mexican aviation.

Aeromexico has added live television to its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft. This new service will initially offer two channels - Sport 24 for live sporting action from around the world, and CNN International. In partnership with Panasonic Avionics, the service will be available to passengers from both the seatback inflight entertainment and communications system and on their own personal electronic devices.

Aeromexico has announced the expansion of its service to the United States from Mexico City with the addition of Austin, Texas to its route network on November 17th, 2016. The decision comes as the airline continues to grow its presence in Texas with the introduction of Austin as its fourth destination in the state in addition to Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.

Aeromexico has announced plan to add more frequencies on five of its principal international routes during summer 2017. The carrier will significantly increase flights to Amsterdam, London, Madrid, Shanghai, and Santiago on a weekly basis. This increase represents nearly 40 per cent of its current seat capacity on these five routes, operating its Boeing 787 Dreamliner, one of the most modern commercial aircrafts in the sky.

Aeromexico was present at the 2016 edition of the Tianguis Turístico travel trade show where it announced its newest routes and flights to further enhance its domestic and international connectivity network. The carrier’s director of corporate sales, Jorge Goytortua, announced the airline’s ongoing growth plan for 2016, focused on its domestic network through its major hubs where it plans to multiply the number of flights connecting these destinations.

Aeromexico and WestJet have signed a codeshare agreement. The new codeshare will give Aeromexico’s customers enhanced connecting service via Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver to more than 10 Canadian destinations.

Aeromexico, Mexico’s global airline, announced an increase in the number of flights it offers between Mexico City and major destinations such as Acapulco, Cancun, Huatulco, Los Cabos, Merida, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta and Zihuatanejo in Mexico and Miami, Orlando and San Antonio in the United States, for this summer season. The airline will, therefore, add over 100 flights a week to its connectivity network, with more than 3,000 seats per week for the domestic market and over 2,000 additional seats for the international market.
