The number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport rose 9.5% year-on-year to 1,889,786 in April 2012.

Flight movements and maximum take-off (MTOW) weight rose by 1.5% and 0.1%, respectively, while cargo turnover declined 11.3%. The number of transfer passengers was 18.3% higher in April 2012 than in April of the previous year

Growth was recorded in passenger traffic to Eastern Europe with plus 18.2% and to Western Europe with plus 6.2%. Traffic to the Middle East was 9.0% higher in April 2012.
