The publisher of Travel Weekly US has acquired travel technology research specialist PhoCusWright for an undisclosed sum.
Northstar Travel Media described the deal on its website as “a move designed to create a global travel research, media and events powerhouse”.
Northstar chairman and chief executive Tom Kemp said: “The addition of PhoCusWright provides Northstar with leadership in the fastest-growing segment of travel, tourism and hospitality: the convergence of digital technology and the travel industry.”
PhoCusWright’s flagship event, the PhoCusWright Conference, attracts a delegation of global travel industry leaders.
Company founder Philip Wolf will continue to serve as chairman of PhoCusWright, which will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Northstar Travel Media.
Philip Wolf said: “Integrated smart marketing, targeted investments and more manpower will help us achieve significant new things for our clients.”
