Up to 10,000 cyclists are expected to take part in the one-day mass cycling event, which takes place on Sunday 7 August from 10am onwards.

Running through Deansgate, Castlefield and Sports City, the event gives people the chance to ride along a cycle route without any cars or motor vehicles.

As a result, a number of roads will be closed to all vehicles while the mass ride is underway; a map of the route is available online here: www.goskyride.com/content/downloads/SkyRideManchester2011.pdf.
