Thrifty opens Jordan headquarters

THRIFTY Car Rental is opening its new Jordan headquarters situated on Airport Road close to the airport and downtown Amman.
The company has also opened branches in Terminal 1 and 2 of the Amman airport.

Majdi Jallad, managing director of Thrifty Jordan, said: “We needed to move to a bigger location to accommodate the increase in business from Jordan tourism. We cater to leisure and business tourists and non-profit organisations, but our main business in Jordan is through international embassies, local corporations who receive international guests, congresses, events and tour destination management companies.”

According to Jallad, Thrifty’s business from leisure tourists in Jordan increased by 38 per cent in 2010 compared to 2009. “Jordan’s success in tourism comes from its political stability along with government support in terms of tourism projects and infrastructure development,” he said.

“Thrifty Jordan has increased its fleet size by 10 per cent in line with our expansion in Jordan. Our fleet is a mix of small cars to larger 4WDs, but the most popular have been SUVs for family off-road trips and minivans which are usually booked by a holiday group of six or seven people,” continued Jallad.

Sam Eltibi, executive director of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group said: “We are excited about the booming business in Jordan and are in support of Thrifty’s initiatives. Jordan has the target market for Thrifty, which demands the highest standards and quality from the overall car rental experience.”
