Over 29,000 extra seats per week will be available on Stansted Express trains from May 22nd.

With demand for Stansted Airport continuing to grow, the additional seats will ensure that holidaymakers travelling to the airport by train can continue to enjoy a comfortable journey.

The additional seats – over 5,000 every week – have been made possible by increasing the number of carriages on the trains where possible, taking many trains from eight carriages to 12.

Eleni Jordan, head of sales, Stansted Express, said: “As demand continues to grow we are delighted to be able to offer extra seats on our services this summer.”

With trains every 15 minutes and a journey time of just 47 minutes from London providing the fastest to Stansted Airport, recent official figures have demonstrated that it is also the most popular form of transport, above the coach or car.
