A jet carrying Michelle Obama had to abandon its landing to avoid crashing into a military cargo jet, according to reports.

The first lady was returning from a trip in New York when the Boeing 737 was ordered to make a series of turns to put more distance between the planes as they approached the Air Force Base in Maryland. After circling an air force base, it landed safely.

The Federal Aviation Administration has stated “The aircraft was never in any danger”.

In October 2007, Michelle Obama was involved in a car accident that injured a motor cyclist, while she was being driven in a campaign van in Hampton, Iowa.
