A 42 year old man has died in the sea during a family holiday in Spain.

Colin McLean, from Edinburgh, had been playing with his eight year old son, Fraser in the sea near Fuengirola, Malaga when the incident occurred.

A police officer pulled the man from the water but it was not possible to revive him.

The family had been staying with friends at their family holiday flat.
