Meliá Hotels International signs Meliá Bangkok for 2022 opening

The signing of Meliá Bangkok will mark the entry of Meliá Hotels International into the Bangkok hotel industry in 2022. 

Meliá Bangkok is the company’s second property in Thailand, following the signing of Sol Beach House Koh Samui in 2015, and will be Meliá Hotels & Resorts first city-centre hotel.

The new agreement with Asset World, a member of TCC Group, one of the largest business conglomerates in Thailand, enhances MHI’s Asian expansion plans.

The announcement of Meliá Bangkok also marks another milestone in the Company’s long-term partnership with TCC Group, founded many years ago, due to a shared service ethos for the hospitality industry. 

“It gives Meliá Hotels International great confidence to partner with Asset World to launch the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand in Bangkok,” said Bernardo Cabot Estarellas, senior vice president Asia Pacific at Meliá Hotels International.

Meliá Bangkok will be managed under the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand.

The new-build, upscale ‘bleisure’ hotel will strengthen the brand’s portfolio of global urban resorts and will boast 315 luxurious guestrooms, exceptional F&B outlets, spa amenities, a fitness centre and meeting facilities. The hotel’s site will also be home to retail and office space.

The hotel will be situated in the heart of Sukhumvit and 30 minutes from Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

Meliá Bangkok will be within easy reach of Benjasiri Park and the future Bangkok Mall, which will offer a range of entertainment venues including two theme parks, as well as commercial, residential and office spaces.

Meliá Hotels & Resorts, the most international brand of the MHI, has 126 properties worldwide and more than 30 years of presence in Asia.
