Kuoni expands John Lewis retail concession

Kuoni expands John Lewis retail concession

Travel company Kuoni has announced it is to open four new concessions in John Lewis shops, at the department store’s sites in Brent Cross, Aberdeen, Welwyn and Leicester.

The new concessions will bring the total number of Kuoni sites in John Lewis shops to eight, following the success of its original four concessions in Oxford Street, Southampton, Reading and Cardiff, which opened in autumn 2012.

The concessions will continue to combine the look and feel of the two brands, with John Lewis furniture and Kuoni fittings.

They will be situated in the customer service area, adjacent to the John Lewis Gift List department, and include the latest technology such as iPads and plasma screens to encourage customer interaction by bringing holidays to life through beautiful imagery and videos.

As part of the brand partnership, Kuoni is already promoting John Lewis Travel Insurance to its customers and is the travel partner for the John Lewis Gift List.

This service allows wedding guests to contribute to a Kuoni honeymoon.

Sean Allam, director, commercial operations, at John Lewis, said: “John Lewis customers have embraced the idea of buying holidays in our department stores, and we’ve been impressed at how well the concessions have performed.

“We’re seeing that customers want the expertise and advice they can get from visiting a branch, which in turn drives footfall to our shops and helps John Lewis to differentiate further our offer on the high street.

“Our partnership with Kuoni is a great fit for John Lewis, not only the concessions in our shops, but through other parts of our business such as John Lewis insurance and Gift List.”
