KLM, part of the Air France KLM Group, is expanding its network of routes this winter, offering three direct flights a week from Amsterdam to Windhoek via Luanda, Angola.

As of October, a KLM Airbus A330-200 will depart from Amsterdam at 22:45 every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday for an overnight flight to the Namibian capital.

After a stop-over lasting one hour and 15 minutes in Luanda, Angola, it will arrive at Hosea Kutako International Airport in Windhoek on the following day at 12:15 local time.

The return flights to Amsterdam will leave Windhoek every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 17:40.

Once again after a stopover lasting one hour and 15 minutes in Luanda, the flight will arrive at Schiphol Amsterdam Airport on the following day at 05:20.

There are attractive feeder flights connecting Amsterdam with Germany and Europe.

Maureen Posthuma, area manager, Europe, Namibia Tourism Board, said: “We greatly welcome the new KLM flight connection to Windhoek, as it will open up Namibia even more for the European market.

“Namibia attracts great interest in the Benelux countries, Germany, France and the United Kingdom as well as other European countries, with its many-faceted landscapes.

“In future, these new direct flights from Amsterdam will fulfil demand even more effectively, inviting travellers to discover the ‘country of endless horizons’ for themselves,” said Posthuma.
