Telford takes up leadership of Blakes Hotel

Blakes Hotel has appointed Ian Telford as general manager.

Telford will oversee all of the operations at the South Kensington establishment, including the recently relaunched restaurant and a forthcoming bar launch.

Bringing over 30 years of experience in the travel and hospitality industry to the role, he has received various accolades along the way, and gained invaluable experience during his time at Morgans hotels group, playing pivotal roles at Sanderson and St Martins Lane Hotel, leading to the global position of Director of Guest Experience for the whole group.

Telford’s most recent achievements include being part of the opening team of Andre Balazs’ Chiltern Firehouse, where he played a crucial role in its resounding success and developed innovative strategies to offer guests a world renowned boutique experience.

In his earlier career he built a strong operational background in the food and beverage sectors across the UK which later led him to make the decision to establish his position in the luxury hospitality sector in some of the top London properties.

As general manager, Telford will bring his wealth of experience and innate charm to continue Blakes Hotel’s hospitable and lavish environment.

He will render his detailed eye and maintain the individual style of all 45 designed rooms on the property, while overseeing the eponymous restaurant and bar.
