Hong Kong Airlines suspends Gatwick route

Hong Kong Airlines has suspended all bookings for its Gatwick to Hong Kong route after September 3, which has resulted in rumours that it may drop the route.

The carrier launched flights between Gatwick and Hong Kong on March 8th, on an Airbus A330 aircraft configured with both Club Classic and Club Premier seating.

The service aimed to provide ‘a real choice to business and premium leisure traffic to one of the world’s great cities, with excellent connections to other points in Asia.’

A spokesman for Hong Kong Airlines said that the HNA Group was considering the future of the route, but no official statement has been made to the UK office on the route’s future.
