HF Holidays expands line up with great new hotel in Wales

HF holidays has purchased Dolserau Hall in the Snowdonia National Park.  The well-regarded hotel is set in five acres of grounds just outside Dolgellau, and has a reputation for high quality accommodation and good food – with an AA rosette to its name.

HF Holidays is the UK’s leading provider of walking, outdoor and leisure activity holidays and operates as a co-operative society.

Dolserau Hall joins HF Holidays’ existing portfolio of 16 country houses throughout Britain, all in spectacular locations designed to take full advantage of the great outdoors for walking holidays and leisure activity breaks.

“A strengthening financial performance enables us to add this superb hotel to our portfolio,” says Chief Executive Brian Smith.  “We are delighted to have secured a property with such high standards, and with immediate access to the most breathtaking scenery Wales has to offer.  Dolserau Hall’s superb gardens offer unrivalled views of Cadair Idris and there are excellent mountain walks and landscapes to inspire painters on the doorstep.”

“The new hotel not only allows us to offer guests a high standard of accommodation – something for which we constantly strive – but offers a new area for our guests to walk in and an easy access to the mountains of Snowdonia“ explains Smith.

Dolserau Hall will host Guided Walking holidays and Discovery Tours, along with Great Little Trains of Wales breaks, Bridge-playing, Art and birdwatching holidays.

At the same time, HF Holidays – which welcomes 50,000 people on holidays each year – has just released the results of its 2010 guest satisfaction survey.

99 per cent of all respondents rated the country house in which they stayed as Very Good or Good; 98 per cent stated that the ‘Walking’ included in their holiday was Very Good or Good; 98 per cent also rated the ‘Sociability’ of the holiday as Very Good or Good.

‘Food’ (all HF Holidays in the UK are full-board) and ‘Staff’ at the houses were both rated Very Good or Good by 97 per cent of guests.  91 per cent said that the holidays offered Very Good or Good

‘Value for Money’.  Bedroom accommodation at the houses scored slightly lower, rated Very Good or Good by 88 per cent of guests.

“As a co-operative society, we’re constantly re-investing in our programme for the benefit of members and the many thousands of guests we receive each year,” says Smith.

“The acquisition of Dolserau Hall is part of our strategy to improve every aspect of our holidays year by year.  It is just one aspect of an on-going programme of upgrades and improvements at all our country houses which is well under way.”
