CityJet confirm airline service available in 2011 from London to Normandy

CityJet is continuing the link between London City Airport and Deauville in 2011. The service takes off on 7th January 2011, with some flights also scheduled for Christmas and New Year.

CityJet, part of Air France KLM, will maintain the route between London City Airport and Deauville-St Gatien. The decision has been celebrated by Alain Le Vern, President of the Upper Normandy region and Deauville-Normandy Airport Public Authority. The short flight across the Channel will resume during the winter period of 2010 / 2011 through to summer 2011.

The route from London City Airport towards Deauville, worked so well last summer that CityJet has been able to accept the request of the airport’s Public Authority to maintain the service through winter.

“The continuation of this route has been welcomed not only by the Public Authority, but also by British passengers, Norman passengers, by the French community living around London, and of course the large British ex-pat community in Normandy, all of whom made the most of the route last summer,” explains Alain Le Vern.

Normandy offers a delightful mixture of some of France’s best countryside, heritage, culture, food and entertainment, 20 000 Brits have second homes in or around Deauville, a town built to symbolise elegance, prestige and sophistication.
Boasting the leading fashion houses, and the most glamorous beaches, Deauville is host to the American Film Festival, enticing jet-set visitors all year round, from around the world, many of whom are attracted to equestrian opportunities amidst the beautiful countryside. For business or pleasure, traveling to Deauville is certainly worthwhile.

CityJet are planning three flights per week between Deauville Airport and London City on Fridays, Sundays and Wednesdays, starting from January 7th 2011 until Easter 2011.

In summer 2011, CityJet plans to add a Monday flight, as last year, providing a service to passengers who wish to fly after the weekend.

London City Airport serves business passengers from the City and Canary Wharf, 22 minutes by tube.
CityJet flies to several European cities from London City Airport including, Amsterdam, Anvers, Dublin, Dundee, Edinburgh, Eindhoven, Jersey, Luxembourg, Milan, Nantes, Paris Orly, Rotterdam, and Venice.
