Travelzoo Users Among Internet`s Most Active Buyers

Travelzoo has announced that
newly released data by Nielsen//NetRatings @Plan for the first quarter of 2003
shows that Travelzoo users continue to be more active purchasers of online
travel—including vacation packages, airline tickets, and hotel rooms
- than users who visited any Internet travel site.

The @Plan data, released on May 27th, shows that 9 out of 10 Travelzoo
users (91%) shopped for any form of online travel in the last six months,
compared to just 60% of all Internet users and 81% of all Internet travel site
users.  Furthermore, 65% of Travelzoo users purchased some form of travel
online in the same period, compared to 38% of Internet users and 54% of all
Internet travel site users.

Travelzoo`s audience also continues to be more active than other Internet
users across each major travel segment.  50% of Travelzoo users have shopped
online for a vacation package within the last six months.  This compares to an
Internet average of 20%.  The average of Internet travel sites is 36%.
Travelzoo users are also three times as likely as the average Internet user
and 68% more likely than users of any Internet travel site to have purchased a
vacation package online in the last six months.
Travelzoo users are among the Internet`s most active shoppers and buyers
of airline tickets, with a full 81% of Travelzoo users having shopped online
for an airline ticket within the last six months.  This compares to 51% for
all Internet users and 70% for users of Internet travel sites.  54% of
Travelzoo users have purchased an airline ticket online within the last six
months.  This compares to an Internet average of 31% and an Internet travel
site average of 44%.

Travelzoo users continue to be among the Internet`s most active online
hotel bookers.  In the last six months, 59% of Travelzoo users shopped for a
hotel reservation online.  That`s nearly double the Internet average of 31%
and significantly higher than the 50% average for users of Internet travel
sites.  In the last six months, 36% of Travelzoo users booked a hotel
reservation online.  Again, this number is much higher than the Internet
average of 17%.  The average for users of Internet travel sites is 27%.

“This recent data confirms that advertisers on Travelzoo continue to
effectively reach an audience which is among the Internet`s most active in
terms of online travel shopping and purchasing, regardless of the specific
travel segment,” said Kelly Ford, Vice President of Marketing for Travelzoo
Inc.  “We see the results of this efficiency every day when we hear about the
tremendous response our advertisers receive - across all travel segments
- from ads they place on Travelzoo,” he added.
