Wyndham Promotes Andrew Jordan

Wyndham International, Inc. (AMEX:WBR) today announced that Andrew Jordan has been promoted to executive vice president of sales & marketing and chief marketing officer, replacing David Johnson who has left the company to become chief executive officer of a new hotel management company, Aimbridge Hospitality. Jordan, formerly Wyndham`s senior vice president of marketing, is now responsible for the company`s sales, marketing, revenue management and corporate communications departments. He reports directly to president and chief operating officer, Ted Teng.

“Andrew`s promotion fills a key Wyndham objective of professionally advancing good people from within the organization as well as hiring the best person for each position. His experience as president of U.S. sales and marketing for Club Med and his product brand experience gained while at Coca-Cola make him the most qualified person in the industry to take on this role,” commented Fred J. Kleisner, Wyndham`s chairman and chief executive officer.
Kleisner added, “While Dave Johnson`s presence will be clearly missed, he`ll still play a major role with our company—that of a franchisee. Aimbridge Hospitality has short-term plans to become one of Wyndham`s key franchise partners. We couldn`t be happier for Dave in his new leadership position and look forward to working with him in this new capacity.”

Jordan joined Wyndham five years ago as senior vice president of marketing, responsible for positioning Wyndham as a leading, upscale hotel brand in North America. Under his leadership the brand has increased both in loyalty and awareness, supported by the introduction of Wyndham ByRequest(R), a guest recognition program focused on differentiating the guest experience through personalized stays; an award-winning advertising campaign; public relations events including a nationwide announcement of a free long distance call enhancement to Wyndham ByRequest; the launch of the Wyndham Family Retreat(SM) program at Wyndham Resorts that focuses on bringing families together while on vacation; expanding the Golden Door(R) brand name; and the recent launch of a new branded Web site.

“The cornerstones of Andrew`s leadership team are Jamie Walters, senior vice president of sales, Chris Heinz, senior vice president of distribution and revenue management and Craig Cunningham, vice president of brand marketing, whose duties have now been expanded to ensure that successful brand programs like Wyndham ByRequest, Women on Their Way(R) and the proprietary Web site are continually optimized as revenue generators for the company,” Kleisner added.
Jordan has an extensive background in consumer marketing and creating strategies and programs that built several global brands in categories ranging from laundry detergent to cosmetics. Prior to Wyndham, Jordan was with Club Med where he held the position of president of U.S. sales and marketing. Prior to that, Jordan was part of the global marketing team for The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta and spent the previous ten years with major advertising agencies in New York, including Lowe & Partners, Wells Rich Green and Ogilvy & Mather.
